Here are 40 of the best.Ĭontributors: Phil de Semlyen, Matthew Singer, Annette Richardson, Ashanti Omkar With a renaissance now in full swing, we felt it was time to round up some of the genre’s classics, along with its hidden gems. Also, in the age of streaming, when most of us struggle to pay full attention to whatever’s on television while doomscrolling on Twitter, movies that force us to engage, follow clues and essentially become a participation serve as an ideal antidote to distracted viewing. For one thing, murder-mystery movies are one of cinema’s foundational genres, and having them back in style has a way of reconnecting viewers with film history. Now, it seems like you can’t look through a magnifying glass without seeing a dead body that’s turned up under suspicious circumstances, either in cinemas (the recent remakes of Murder on the Orient Express and Death on the Nile ) or on television ( Only Murders in the Building, Poker Face ). I select a gift to send, choose the person, then it gets stuck on "loading". I wouldn't mind (I did get some passes, thankfully), except now I'm having issues where I can't go back in time and send gifts. When I turned on WiFi and set my date to set automatically, all my stars were gone and I didn't get the "event is over" notification or any passes. Last night I hadn't used up all my event room passes and wanted to finish them this morning, so I went back in time, turned off WiFi and internet on my iPad, and when I woke up I played until I used up my passes. There were three days left in the Starcatcher event and when I was TTing I was suddenly notified the event was over and my stars were converted to passes. The first time I messed up, I don't know what I did. I usually don't travel ahead of the current date. I always travel backward in time, then forward to the current date. I messed up twice during the Starcatcher event.
